NATIONAL AND CROSS BORDER FREIGHT TRANSPORTATION

The HML service offerings provide a sustainable and cost-effective transport solution while, at the same time, accommodating annual peaks and valleys created by consumer demand. This includes the delivery of a core service freight transportation. This requires flexibility in vehicle capacity and availability without increased capital investment and financial responsibility. The extended delivery footprint allows for customer network alignment and the identification of synergies between customers.

VALUE-ADDING SERVICES

Additional value-adding services are available to customers as required and provide customers with customised and flexible service offering options including on-site management, clearing and forwarding, fixed term pricing of diesel, flexible payment methods (at a premium), and warehouse management.

HML has a key account focus through monthly monitoring and reporting of KPIs and continuous improvement initiatives, aimed at enhancing our customers’ businesses.

CENTRALISED COMMAND CENTRE

The HML service offerings are delivered through a centralised operational command centre which applies the appropriate leading edge and best fit information technology systems to enable expert operational execution while providing full visibility and auditability of every load. The extended delivery footprint afforded to HML through this centralized operational command centre allows for alignment of customer networks and the identification of collaborations between customers to optimise service delivery for all.

DEDICATED FLEET AND EXTENSIVE TRANSPORT NETWORK

One of HML’s most sort after qualities is our access to an extensive network of reliable and capable transporters. This well-established supplier base consists of approximately 140 accredited transporters with access to approximately 15 000 vehicles.

In addition, HML prides itself on the unique added advantage of a dedicated fleet of leading transporters. Situated in strategic positions across South Africa, these HML accredited transporters have specialised vehicles to serve the specific needs of our valued customers. Specialised vehicles include, but are not limited to – flat deck trucks, drop-side trucks, tipper trucks, drop-side tipper trucks, tautliners and tankers.

BILLING AND POD MANAGEMENT

HML utilises a semi-automated billing system. Information is extracted from HML’s ERP system (Datatim) as per load agreements. Load agreements are attached to supporting POD (Proof of Delivery) documents once received from sub-contractors and originals sent to customers as per standard agreements. A scanned copy is loaded onto Datatim and linked to the relevant load agreement.

Full visibility of all loads is created from purchase order placement, through the various stages of load execution up to delivery of goods and provision of a clean POD for payment approval.

HML’s POD management consists of a comprehensive administrative process including the receipt and scanning of PODs and supporting load documents.

Billing and POD management procedures can be customised as per specific customer requirements e.g. invoice per mine.
